Structural engineers get to design everything that gets built.
Inspirational Indian Legend Sir. M. Visveswaraiah and the fascination towards structures.
I have a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from India’s Visveswaraiah Technological University and a Master of Engineering Studies in Civil Engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Though I had other offers, I chose to join URS because of a good work environment, better scope to build a strong career, exciting and challenging projects and mentoring from experienced senior colleagues who were willing to allow youngsters to take initiatives.
All these suggested that this was the right place to start building my career and provide me with the best start towards achieving my ambition of becoming a good Civil Structural Engineer. In addition, working for a company that complies with ISO standards is always a wonderful experience. Being a multi-disciplinary consultancy, URS also gives unlimited exposure to keep our skills and experience on par with the ever growing and highly competitive present day world.
Carrying out the design of a wide variety of structures independently.
Working in coordination with different disciplines on various projects.
The work culture, in general, and the social/multicultural work environment in particular.
To progress up the ladder in the sector I am currently working.
